Walking into a licensed cannabis store for the first time can be overwhelming with so many product formats on the shelf. Here’s a plain-language breakdown of the most common ones you’ll find at Jolly Green Cannabis.
Flower
Flower is the dried cannabis bud itself, sold loose or pre-packaged by weight, typically in gram increments. It’s the most traditional format and offers the widest range of strains. Flower can be consumed in several ways, most commonly by rolling it yourself or using a dry herb vaporizer.
Pre-rolls
Pre-rolls are flower that’s already been rolled into a ready-to-use format, similar to a cigarette. They’re a convenient option if you’d rather skip the rolling process, and are sold individually or in multi-packs.
Vapes
Cannabis vape products use a cartridge filled with cannabis extract, heated by a battery device rather than burned. They’re compact and discreet compared to flower or pre-rolls.
Edibles
Edibles are food and beverage products infused with cannabis extract, such as gummies, chocolates, and beverages. In Ontario, edibles are capped at 10mg of THC per package by federal regulation. Edibles take longer to take effect than smoked or vaped formats since they’re processed through digestion, so product labels include guidance on timing.
Which format is right for you?
That depends entirely on your own preferences and experience level. Our staff can walk you through the differences in person, but we’re not able to recommend a product based on your health or make claims about what any format will do for you. Every product’s packaging includes THC/CBD content and other required information to help you make an informed choice.
